Basic Rules

  1. Student Records are confidential and may not be released to a third party without the written consent of the student.

  2. Some information is considered public (also known as Directory Information) and can be released without the students written permission.

    If you are ever in doubt about releasing student information, refer the request to your registrar’s office.

  3. As a Lewis & Clark College employee, you have a responsibility to protect educational records in your possession.

  4. You have access to information only for legitimate use in completion of your responsibilities as a Lewis & Clark College employee.

    Need to know does not include curiosity.
