To address a security vulnerability, on October 24, 2023 L&C’s Zoom instance will be set to a new minimum version requirement for all clients. Mac and Windows workstations need to update to Zoom 5.16.2 in order to continue joining and hosting meetings. Out of date Zoom applications will not be able to join L&C hosted meetings.

All Employees Must Complete Annual Wildfire Smoke Training by July 21, 2023

On July 1, 2022, Oregon’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) permanently adopted MANDATORY ANNUAL training for all employees who may be exposed to unhealthy or hazardous air quality during periods of wildfire smoke. This permanent rule is very similar to the temporary standard adopted in August 2021, with a few key changes.

Google Photos will be turned off for all Lewis & Clark accounts on July 1, 2022. The Google Photos application is not a core service covered by the Google for Education Workspace agreement with schools. After 43 years at Lewis & Clark, Administrative Assistant for the Theatre Department Joyce Beeny will retire on June 15, 2021.

“Throughout her time at Lewis & Clark, she has been the soul, the brain, and the ‘commander in chief’ of the department” Professor of Theatre and Department Chair Stepan Simek said. “Her humanity, her love for everyone that she distributed freely and widely, and her palpable joy of being at her desk every single day have made her into a true icon not only for the Theatre department, but for the College as a whole. We’re all indebted to her; she is irreplaceable, and she will be missed by all of us.”

Snyder is a first-generation college student who graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Law and Legal Studies, and a Master’s degree in Public Policy. Snyder replaces J.B. Kim JD ’94 who left the law school in late 2020 to become the director of Diversity and Inclusion at the Oregon State Bar.

Ernevad has 22 years of experience working in the built environment industry, with the last eight years in higher education.
