Mac and Windows workstations need to update to Zoom 5.16.2 in order to continue joining and hosting meetings. Out of date Zoom applications will not be able to join L&C hosted meetings.

Information Technology is changing the College’s voicemail retention practices in order to reduce storage utilization and the number of full voicemail inboxes. These changes will impact voicemail messages delivered both to your voicemail inbox, as well as your LC email inbox. All messages older than 90 days will be permanently deleted from your LC email inbox and voicemail inbox on April 1, 2024. If you have voicemail messages that you would like to save, please download locally or to another storage location prior to this date.

Last summer, six exempt employees formed a working group to research ways of organizing a Lewis & Clark Staff Council. Exempt staff—unlike faculty and union staff—do not currently have an organized body within the institution to support their work, promote collaboration and communication, and to serve as an advisory body to the Executive Council.

The National Weather Service is predicting extremely cold temperatures with the possibility of flash freezing and black ice later this afternoon and snow accumulation tomorrow. We will thus institute an early dismissal at 2 p.m. today, with activities and classes on all three of our campuses canceled through Sunday, January 14, 2024.

Lewis & Clark’s notification strategy includes three types of campus-wide emergency and safety-related notifications. 

In an effort to grapple with the unfolding tragedy in Gaza and Israel, Lewis & Clark hosted a multidisciplinary forum, featuring a faculty panel followed by a Q&A.

Several Lewis & Clark Law faculty and administrators were key leaders of the movement to provide a rigorous alternative to the bar exam, including Associate Dean John Parry, Associate Dean Libby Davis, Advocacy Director Jo Perini-Abbott, Assistant Dean of Career Services Devra Hermosilla, and professors Sandy Patrick, and Tung Yin.

The Board of Trustees met on campus October 19–20. It was the Board’s first meeting with Paula Hayes BS ’92 as board chair, and also the first meeting with new trustee Bob Rowe BA ’77.

This year’s symposium, Life Within Capitalism: Reconsidering Market Consequences and the Earth System, will be held October 16–19, 2023. The symposium will feature keynote speakers Professor Yuko Aoyama and Clarence Edwards, as well as an art workshop and a game about carbon cap and trade. All events are free and open to the public.
