Friday, October 9

11:30am – 1:30pm: McCarty Society Luncheon

All alumni and faculty are invited to join the Class of 1959 as they are inducted into the McCarty Society.   The featured speaker,Professor John Parry, talked is titled "Torture: Now that We Know What We Did, What Do We Do Now?"

The McCarty Society honors graduates of Northwestern School of Law who completed their studies fifty or more years ago. We take great pride in these alumni who nurtured Oregon’s first formal program of legal education.

The Society is named after the late Major General Chester E. McCarty ’29. His presence at the law school will be felt for generations to come, not just because of his generosity but also because of what he stood for as a lawyer, a citizen and a man of unassailable character.
