Crystalling the Legacy: Stories and Reflections on the Accreditation Era of a Law School

By Ron Lansing, Professor Emeritus

“In 1965, an eighty-year-old Northwestern College of Law joined a century-old Lewis & Clark College and together set upon a voyage in world turbulent times to reach acceptance in the American family of accredited law education. Crystalling the Legacy is the story of the decade that followed – a long journey told as a memoir by its older wayfarer, Ron Lansing. The course wended its way through the forest beyond the classroom and the cloister, all the while erecting a school and schooling within. In that trek, the reader is given insight into the standards to which law educators are put and by which lawyers are formed. “

Ronald B. Lansing is a Professor of Law Emeritus at Lewis & Clark Law School. Ron taught at the law school for forty-three years.

Crystalling the Legacy can be ordered online. The book sells for $20 including shipping.
