Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” In honor of Dr. King and his message, 1,000 college students will unite to volunteer in the Portland community from 7am-2pm on January 21st. The day will begin with a rally to commemorate Dr. King. Following the rally, volunteers will work to clean, bind, sort, and pack a large collection of books recently donated to the city of Portland. Although this donation is wonderful, it is extremely important that these books are sorted and distributed to houses and libraries around the city. You can help make this happen!
If you have been looking for a way to make a difference in the Portland community, here is your opportunity! For questions please contact Mimi at mngokion@lclark.edu.
