Over 90% of 2023 Graduates Employed
Out of 178 Class of 2023 graduates, over 90% were employed within 10 months of graduation, and close to 85% were employed in jobs that require or prefer a JD degree.

Over 90% of Lewis & Clark Law School 2023 grads were employed within 10 months of commencement, among the highest post-grad employment rate of any law school in the state of Oregon. Equally impressive, close to 85% of those employed are in bar-required or JD-advantage positions, and an additional 2.2% in bar-required fellowships and clinic positions which are classified as law school funded.
Of 178 graduates, 76 are employed by a firm, 53 are working in government or public interest positions, 18 have been hired for judicial clerkships, 10 are employed in business or industry, and 4 are working for educational institutions. 150 graduates are employed in full-time, long term positions.
Most graduates elected to stay local, with 108 grads employed in Oregon post graduation. The second and third largest employment locations were Washington and California respectively.
“This is another outstanding result for our graduates and our hard working career services department,” said Dean Jennifer Johnson. “The legal market is a challenging one for entry-level positions. Our practical training emphasis with practice-ready grads is really making a difference.”
