Making Clinton's EJ Executive Order into Law

Congresswoman Hilda Solis (D-CA) has introduced an environmental justice bill to increase protection for vulnerable communities. The bill would to codify Executive Order 12898 and to require the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to fully implement the recommendations of the Inspector General of the Agency.

Supplemental Environmental Projects

Like court-ordered community service on a grand scale, Supplemental Environmental Projects (SEPs) are beneficial projects that environmental violators can be ordered to do to remedy the harm they caused. The Public Law Research Institute (University of California Hastings College of Law) published an online resource on SEPs, including a 50-state survey with model practices.
