Brotherly Love for African Sister School
Jeremiah Hubbard, MAT ’04, was recently celebrated by Oregonian columnist Steve Duin for his work as the advisor of the Uganda Sister School Club at Southridge High School. The club has raised thousands of dollars for a science lab for their sister school, which Hubbard and five students traveled to see this summer.

Oregon Writing Project offers new strategies for K-12 teachers
Oregon Writing Project (OWP)’s Summer Institute, now in its 25th year, offers K-12 teachers intensive workshops on teaching the writing process, including lessons plans and revision strategies. Said OWP director Linda Christensen (pictured), “The programs help students read, solve problems, and understand concepts in every part of writing.”
Scott Fletcher Named New Dean of the Graduate School
