Artist statement:

I have always been a collector of objects, a maker of spare parts. In my work these parts are made of clay, cast glass cast iron and often, photographic images. Each is formed and fired in a variety of techniques, creating a range of surfaces and colors. Arranged and stacked in totemic "landscapes" or roosts, combinations of human heads, hands, hearts, tree stumps, branches, fish, and birds are pinned together with steel rods.

Reflecting the tradition of ceramic and glass animal figurines, and the colorful kitsch ceramic figures of the 1950‚s. My work references the body, humanness, and our complex interactions. Additionally, these sculptures explore the fragility of the natural world and our inseparable and precarious relationship to it.
