Including Digital Literacy in the Curriculum
Date: 10:30am - 11:45am PDT May 22, 2014
In recent years, discussions of “literacies” have pervaded pedagogical conversations, be it in the form of information literacy, visual literacy, multimedia literacy, or digital literacy. In this workshop, we’ll dig into digital literacy and what it means in your teaching practice. We’ll explore ways to tweak existing assignments and projects and how to brainstorm new ones that promote this specific literacy. We’ll examine the meaning and purpose behind digital literacy, how it integrates with the larger discussion of “literacies” in pedagogical practice, and how it might fit into course objectives. Join us for what we hope will be a lively and invigorating discussion!
