Lyon Opera Ballet
Date: September 29, 2004 PDT
There is nothing traditional about Lyon Opera Ballet, except the classical training of the exquisite dancers in this world-acclaimed company. Under the direction of Yorgos Loukos, Lyon Opera Ballet performs the work of today’s outstanding international choreographers. When they made their Portland debut in May 2001, Bob Hicks of The Oregonian called the company as “joy to watch,” and the White Bird audience responded with a prolonged standing ovation. Lyon Opera Ballet will launch White Bird’s seventh season with an exhilarating program of dances by three of Europe’s outstanding choreographers, Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, and Russell Maliphant.
