Join Ravikiran, hailed as the Mozart of Indian music, performing with flautist Shashank as they combine their extraordinary musical talents in a first-of-its-kind Carnatic Lute-Flute jugalbandi world tour. In contrast to Western music, these two instrumentalists each play in his own style, speaking back and forth, weaving a musical whole.
Lewis & Clark College is proud to present this concert with Kalakendra, the Society for the Performing Arts of India. Kalakendra was founded in February 1987 to promote and increase awareness of the performing arts of India by presenting that culture’s finest musicians and dancers to Portland audiences. As a voluntary non-profit organization, Kalakendra has been successful in presenting over 150 concerts and educational activities to date.
