Gallery exhibition draws media attention
Open gallery
Throughout Portland this fall, galleries are honoring the legacy of Bonnie Bronson, a powerful force in the regional arts community who died in a climbing accident in 1990. Lewis & Clark’s exhibition is the centerpiece of a multi-part tribute to Bronson, celebrating the 20th anniversary of a fellowship established in her honor.
“In her memory, family and friends created the Bonnie Bronson Fellowship, an annual cash grant awarded to an established, practicing artist who has demonstrated artistic excellence and a commitment to the Pacific Northwest,” OPB recently reported.
Debuting new work by the 20 Bonnie Bronson Fellows—some of the Pacific Northwest’s most influential contemporary artists—Lewis & Clark’s exhibition is the first such gallery event to bring these artists together in one show.
Visit OPB to learn more about the fellowship and exhibitions taking place across Portland and to view a slideshow of work on display at Lewis & Clark’s Hoffman Gallery.
Bonnie Bronson Fellows: 20 Years will run through December 11; the Hoffman Gallery is open Tuesday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
