Homestays needed for students from Eastern Europe

Homestays needed for students from Eastern Europe

Every year Lewis & Clark has one or two students through IREX, a program that brings students from former Soviet countries to study in the US for a year. You can find out more about this program here. For the 2012-13 academic year, LC will have a female student from Ukraine and a male student from Uzbekistan. These undergraduate students are arriving August 11 and I am hoping we could find someone who would be willing to have them stay in their home until the dorms officially open at the end of the August. The students do receive a meal stipend and might be able to contribute to the food costs for their hosts.

My family served as the Friendship Family/Community Friends for one of the IREX students last year and it was a fantastic experience.  I have also met the other two IREX students who have studied at LC in recent years and they have all been so personable, friendly and outgoing.

If you would be interested or would like more information, please let me know.
