The Institute for Humane Studies is a libertarian nonprofit organization that awards scholarships up to $12,000 for undergraduate or graduate study in the United States or abroad. Last year IHS awarded more than 100 scholarships to outstanding undergraduates, graduate students, law students, and professional students who are interested in the classical liberal tradition. Awards are worth up to $1,000.
Humane Studies Fellowships
Scholarships of up to $15,000 for graduate students and outstanding undergraduates planning academic careers with liberty-advancing research interests.
Hayek Fund for Scholars
Awards of up to $750 for graduate students and young faculty to attend a professional conference, attend an academic job interview, conduct research, or participate in a career development seminar.
Summer Graduate Research Fellowships
A non-residential research and writing program to complete a publishable paper. Includes two conferences for fellows to present and discuss their work. $5,000 stipend. (Invitation-only.)
