Women’s basketball headed to NCAA championship

The eighth-ranked Lewis & Clark women’s basketball team has secured their third straight at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. The team will host for the first time in school history, welcoming Trinity (Texas) on Friday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Pamplin Sports Center.

Winners of the Northwest Conference regular-season championship and ranked second in the West Region, the Pioneers have a record that currently sits at 24-3.

In news announced Thursday, Pioneer senior Kristina Williams was named Conference Player of the Year–the second time she has received the honor–and senior Sara Villanueva was named first-team All-Conference.
