Taking Flight

An alumna finds adventure and meaning abroad.

Lewis & Clark educates students for life in a global context. Rebecca Moran BA ’99, who studied international affairs and economics, credits Cyrus Partovi BA ’67, senior lecturer in social sciences, with encouraging her to live and work overseas.

After serving with the Peace Corps in the Republic of Kiribati, Moran moved to Tanzania. There, she earned her pilot’s license and volunteered with a nonprofit that provides health services and airlifts medical patients.

Follow her journey in “Taking Flight Over Africa” by Pattie Pace, originally published in The Chronicle Magazine.
