New Plan for Key Alumni Events

Lewis & Clark is moving Reunion Weekend to summer while Homecoming will remain in the fall.

In an effort to capitalize on the strengths of each season–and the preferences of alumni–Lewis & Clark is moving Reunion Weekend to summer while Homecoming will remain in the fall.

“Portland is a beautiful place to be in the summer, and we want alumni and their families to be able to include reunions in their travel plans,” says Andrew McPheeters, director of alumni and parent programs for the undergraduate college.

The new reunion schedule will take effect in summer 2010. “We’ll be recognizing more than 10 classes next summer,” says McPheeters, “which means Reunion Weekend will be bigger and better than ever. Alumni committees from every reunion class are planning a series of fantastic events.”

Homecoming will continue to be a highlight of the fall schedule. The event will feature affinity reunions, Alumni College, the football game and tailgate party–and much more.

“We’re getting good feedback from alumni about these changes,” says McPheeters. “Our end goal is to create fun, meaningful programming that will bring alumni back to campus.”
