Undergraduate Campus

Since Lewis & Clark created its Pio athletics logo in 2008, Buddy, a 152-pound Newfoundland, has been a mainstay on campus.

Buddy, who lives with his owners in Vancouver, Washington, visits campus regularly to attend athletic events and stand in as the Pioneers’ mascot. Buddy also spends his time visiting elementary school classrooms to take part in lesson plans about Meriwether Lewis and William Clark.

In this video—named one of 2010’s top college holiday videos—Buddy spreads cheer across campus, filling the hearts of pet-less students with joy.

Read Buddy’s story in The Colombian.
