Azucena Morales Santos ’24

Azucena is a first-generation college student from Hillsboro Oregon. Her parents are first-generation immigrants from Santa Catarina Noltepec, Oaxaca. Her parents’ background and her heritage as a Latina push her to excel in higher education and study history, literature, and theory to deepen her understanding of the diversity within migration stories from Mexico to the US (vice versa). She majored in Hispanic Studies and Sociology and Anthropology with a minor in ethnic studies. Even though she doesn’t know what profession she wants to pursue, she knows that she wants to give back to her gente Latina by being a leader in her Lewis and Clark community. At Lewis and Clark, she was a leader in the Inclusion and Multicultural (IME) as a senior mentor, Co-leader of Native Student Union, President of United Front, Student Alumni Ambassador, and more. During her free time, you can find her at the gym, eating an early breakfast, or in her room watching a Korean drama.
