Summer Writing Program for High School Students

Lewis & Clark College
Portland, Oregon
June 28 - July 10, 2009

historyThe Fir Acres Workshop in Writing and Thinking, first and foremost, is a community of writers who share a commitment to the work and play of writing together. Find out more about writing and living on campus while participating in this summer writing program for high school students.

Since the summer of 1989, Fir Acres has been a place where, as E.B. White puts it, the "self escapes into the open," where all of us follow our written language in order to hear our voices anew.

Glade & Manor House StepsOur willingness to experiment with form and to take risks as writers leads to an authority we take with us as we return to our lives elsewhere. We support each other in the discovery of and commitment to writing as the habit of an engaged, active mind.
