Aaron Beck, the James W. Rogers Professor of Music at Lewis & Clark College, was raised in Italy and New York in a colorful family of artists. Prof. Beck has written five books, two scholarly about Italian medieval music and art, and three novels chronicling the Italian-American experience. A devoted teacher, Prof. Beck has gained numerous awards, including Master Teacher of the American Musicological Society and Teacher of the Year at Lewis & Clark College. She will read from her new exhilarating novel Cauliflower Head and discuss her experience navigating academia’s treacherous waters while remaining true to her artistic vision.
