The Inauguration Was a Success Because of You

Dear Faculty and Staff,

I wish to express my appreciation for everything you did to make last Friday’s Inauguration festivities a success. Alice and I were moved by the care, thought, and hard work that made the events so special for us and for all who took part.

We’ve felt so welcomed by the community over the past year, and this was icing on the cake! Thanks so much for making me, and more importantly Lewis & Clark, look great. I heard so many compliments.

I want to give special thanks to the Inauguration Committee and the many volunteers, our faculty speakers, Cappella Nova, and our community members who served as delegates for our sister institutions. Additionally, the support from and representation of those in the broader Portland community and beyond was a great testament to our community connections.

Thank you as well to Alumni and Parent Programs, Athletics, and the many others who made Homecoming and Family Weekend joyous and productive.

I feel honored by the time and effort so many of you spent on this, and proud of being the president of an institution that produces these kinds of collaborations.

What a wonderful start to the year.

Thanks again,

Wim Wiewel
President
