UWC attended: United World College Costa Rica
Class Year: Class of 2025

Although the years I spent in UWC were unusual, the experience was as special as the other years. In my first year I had to say goodbye to my second years earlier than expected and in my second year restrictions made my last year full of uncertainties. Nevertheless, I was always surrounded by beautiful people. They were the ones who made my experiences unforgettable. I have no doubt I can talk to any UWC student and they would share this opinion with me. I believe it is not just about the place but it’s essentially about the people. UWC is a place that looks to gather human beings with incredible souls in search of a better world. For this same reason, I considered Lewis and Clark, a UWC partner. I know this university looks for higher-class students to continue learning and improving their knowledge to have an impact wherever they go. Therefore, I believe this is the perfect place to keep challenging me while being around people that push me to reach the best version of myself.

I will be in the pre-med track hoping one day to become a doctor. Since I was a kid I have wanted to serve and help my community and become a doctor that goes beyond the treatment. I fully trust L&C will provide me the tools to get closer to achieving my dream. Academically, I have no doubts L&C is a place where I can research and learn from excellent professors. This element complements the emotional maturity developed within the institution, creating a strong equilibrium.

I am passionate about team sports, from watching to practicing them. Soccer is my favorite one. I have played it for as long as I remember and it always helps me to get distracted. I also love getting to know people and hearing their stories as it makes me see different perspectives. I am also interested in adventure, in particular exploring new places full of nature, besides Costa Rica. But as I just saw snow for the first time last year, I am intrigued about what it is going to be like living in the cold of Portland.
