Hi, my name is Pavel Kerkoc and I originate from a small country in the heart of Europe, Slovenia. I am proud to say I am UWC alumni, graduating from UWC Mostar in Bosnia. UWC has given me so much not only academically but also outside the classroom which is the part I am really thrilled about. It introduced me to new cultures, religions and it opened up many horizons for me. It taught me how to be a global peace warrior and it inspired me to tackle injustice as I see it.

I decided to attend Lewis & Clark because it aligned perfectly with the ideals that UWC organization promotes. It is also an academically esteemed institution with a solid base in my intended major of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. With many faculty members deeply familiar with this field I believe Lewis & Clark has a lot to offer and I will gladly absorb all of the knowledge coming my way. When not in school, I like to spend my time climbing, hiking and being in nature in general which makes me greatly appreciative of College’s surroundings. This is also of a great importance for my academic path as I plan on becoming a botanist. Besides my deep passion for nature I also like to spend my time abroad meeting new people, learning about local flora and gathering general experience to apply towards my future challenges.

Lastly, I want to emphasize how grateful I am for this opportunity and generosity that will make my goals and dreams a reality. I plan on becoming the best version of myself and I believe Lewis & Clark College will help me achieve exactly that. I wish to learn as much as possible about my intended field of study and work on my other values in the meantime to become well rounded and academically fulfilled graduate.
