Declining Health Insurance
If you wish to decline coverage through the school sponsored insurance plan, you have a limited time at the start of each academic year to submit your health insurance waiver.
Lewis & Clark requires that all degree seeking, and visiting, Undergraduate and Law students have medical insurance coverage comparable to that offered through the school’s comprehensive Student Health Insurance Plan. Students enrolled in the Academic English Studies program also are held to this insurance requirement. For an explanation of why the school has this policy, please follow this link.
Students are afforded one opportunity in each academic year to waive the school’s coverage. If students do not submit an annual health insurance waiver, they will be automatically enrolled in coverage through the Student Health Insurance Plan for the entire academic year.
The health insurance waiver is only available online and can be accessed here. The Fall 2013 waiver will be available on July 3rd, with a Sept 17, 2013 deadline.
The insurance waiver link will take you to the Aetna Student Health web site, where you will be asked a few questions about your insurance coverage. Submit your information, and you’re all done! There’s no paper waiver to be turned in.
If you have any questions regarding health insurance waivers, please contact Student and Departmental Account Services at accountservices@lclark.edu or by phone at (503) 768-7774.
