PILP is one of the largest student-run organizations at the law school.  Last year, PILP raised $82,000 and funded 12 summer stipends.  Stipends are awarded to students who have been hired by local, national and international public interest organizations who could not otherwise afford to hire law clerks. Over the last 20 years, PILP has provided over 259 stipends to 135 organizations, with projects ranging from assisting refugees in Portland to promoting the preservation and protection of Yellowstone National Park.

Several Live Auction Items that sound fun:

Golf Oregon
This is the ultimate package for any golf enthusiast.  First, head out to Golf Galaxy and use a $25 gift card to stock up on your favorite golf balls.  Next, hone your swing at Broadmoor Golf Course with four certificates for 18 holes.  When you are ready for more action, head to the highly acclaimed championship Ghost Creek Golf Course at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, at the base of the Tualatin Mountains, for a complimentary foursome of golf. The course’s gently rolling terrain was home to the NIKE TOUR Championships in 1993 and 1994, and was rated in Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Places You Can Play (2005). Finally, treat yourself to a getaway at the Resort at the Mountain, nestled in the western highlands of Mount Hood, less than an hour southeast of Portland.  With a unique ambiance, exceptional service, and natural beauty, the Resort offers a wonderful array of experiences for everyone.  Lose yourself in the wonders of Mount Hood with a night at the resort, breakfast for two, and 18 holes of golf for two (cart included!)  To round out your golf experience, the package includes three golf balls signed by golf professional Steve Stricker! The balls are from the Championship Series 2010: one from the Masters, one from the PGA Championship, and one from the US Open.

Aloha! One Week in Maui
Enjoy an idyllic week at the Kamaole Nalu Oceanfront Resort in Maui, Hawaii with the convenience of a ground-floor unit that opens onto a patio and grass area just steps from the pool and a one-minute walk to the beach. This unit includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, living room and indoor and outdoor dining.  The resort has a stunning ocean front location complete with a swimming pool, BBQ station, outdoor shower and chaise lounges perfect for reading in. There is also great snorkeling directly in front of the resort—early mornings are best.  Spend a week in Paradise!

Masters of the Grape
Warm up for this magical evening with a glass of fine French bubbly, as you are escorted through some of the finest names in California and Pacific Northwest wine.  The tasting is hosted by Larry Amburgey, Class of ‘75, of Littler Mendelson, and Professor Ed Brunet at Thirst’s Downtown wine bar in the RiverPlace.  Count on heavy hors d’oeurves so you can skip your dinner plans, and prepare yourself for plenty of stimulating conversation!  To commemorate the evening, you will receive a souvenir wine glass from Silver Oak (among California’s finest cabernet producers).  This event is NOT to be missed!  Each of the 30 spots will be sold individually, so why not grab your fellow alumni, colleagues, or soon-to-be law school graduates to join you in a celebration you won’t soon forget!

Registration for this event is now closed.
