A Law School scavenger hunt? Native plants and art on campus? Check out the CARE Committee half-hour summer events

CARE—which stands for Community And Recreation for Employees—is an employee committee formed to work toward improved employee morale and cohesiveness among all college employees, make a positive impact in the community, and have FUN!

Our 2012 summer series includes three half-hour events:

LC Native Plant Walking Tour

Tuesday, June 26, 12:05-12:35 p.m.

Did you know that Oregon has 3,600 species of native plants?  Learn about the native plants and trees on the LC Campus from Gabe Bishop, grounds supervisor. He’ll take us on a tour of plant life on campus and share his knowledge and expertise.  Maybe you’ll even learn a few gardening tips!

We’ll meet at the Trail Room patio (lower level of Templeton near the bookstore) rain or shine and the tour will begin promptly at 12:05 p.m.

LC Art Walk

Tuesday, July 10, 12:05-12:35 p.m.

Join Linda Tesner, Hoffman Gallery director on a walk through campus to view the College’s outdoor art collection. Learn how these public works of art found their home at Lewis & Clark. Linda will have fascinating behind-the-scenes anecdotes about the outdoor sculptures on the CAS campus and—bonus! the artwork in Howard Hall.

We’ll meet at the Hoffman Gallery entrance at 12:05 p.m. and begin the tour talking about the John Buck sculptures.

Law School Scavenger Hunt

Thursday, August 9, 12:05-12:35 p.m.

Do you know your way around the Law School campus? Take this opportunity to explore and learn more about the Law School through this interactive and fun activity!  Doreen Corwin, Director of Faculty Services has designed a tour where you’ll answer questions and learn about the Law School. We’ll be in groups led by Law School Staff so there’s no worries about getting lost.

We’ll meet outside the entrance of the Legal Research Center (the building furthest south, shaped like an inverted U) at 12:05 p.m. and begin the adventure.
