Visiting Lewis & Clark is the best way to get to know us. Our three campuses—undergraduate, graduate, and law—are nestled in a forest just six miles from downtown Portland, and we have a free shuttle that will take you there.
Our undergraduate campus spans a ravine and is surrounded by trees, giving you ample space to explore and connect with nature.
Our law school is located next door to Tryon Creek State Park, which is where you’ll find members of our community hiking the 13 miles of stunning nature trails.
And our graduate school has an expansive green lawn that serves as a backyard, commonly listed as our students’ favorite place on campus. It’s also where our bee garden is housed!

Cheer on Your Peers
Almost 20 percent of our undergraduates compete on our 21 varsity sports teams. Attending games to cheer on your peers is a great way to spend time with friends, build community, and show your school spirit. Full athletics schedule.

Lewis & Clark is located in the lush hills of South Portland, the city’s “sixth quadrant.” But our beautiful campuses aren’t the entire story—our location offers something that most other schools do not: an ideal setting in a vibrant, progressive city with endless networking, entertainment, and cultural resources.

Portland is nationally renowned for its food scene, which includes options for almost every food preference and dietary need. We were even given the title of best pizza in the country from Modernist Pizza!

Things to Do
It’s impossible to provide an exhaustive list of things to do and see in a city as vibrant and diverse as Portland. We can promise you this, though: you won’t lack for great opportunities to have fun.
Miranda Caba Solano BA ’27More about MirandaMy favorite thing about living in Portland is how diverse and vibrant the city is. There are a lot of local stores where you can go with your friends, and there is a lot of variety of local foods. I recommend you go to Killer Burger—it’s so good!
Haley Wildhirt BA ’22More about HaleyIf I want to be in the bustle of the city, it’s a 15-minute bus ride downtown to Pioneer Square. If I want to be in nature, I can hike around on campus, or drive an hour to Mount Hood, or drive 90 minutes to the coast.
Misha Davydov BA ’21More about MishaI wanted to be in a place that was close to an urban area, and the proximity to Portland’s art scene (as well as amazing food that the city has) was another reason I commited to L&C.
