Core values take center stage at convocation

Students and faculty of the graduate school gathered on September 8 to reflect on our core values: Compassion, Creativity, Commitment.

The annual start to each academic year, convocation allows students to come together across academic disciplines to share and reflect on the college’s core values of compassion, creativity, and commitment.

This year’s program began at Agnes Flanagan Chapel where students had an opportunity to hear a panel discussion with faculty members on how these core values have shaped their professional lives.  Following the panel, students divided into to small groups to discuss a selection of faculty-authored articles.  Students from across programs were able to discuss how to integrate the values of the graduate school into their individual work, and how to work collaboratively with one another.

Following small group discussions, the graduate school community gathered on South Campus for a wine and cheese reception featuring music by local band, Here Comes Everybody.
