CERT Basic Training
Date: 12:00pm - 1:00pm PDT June 21 Location: JR Howard Hall 123
JR Howard Hall 123
The CERT program has over 2,600 registered teams nationwide, with the mission of harnessing the power of every individual–through education, training, and volunteer service–to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds. The CERT/NET program trains students in disaster first aid, psychological trauma, building assessments, search and rescue, victim extrication, and other elements of emergency response.
This FREE training consists of 24 hours of independent and classroom instruction and skill-based activities, followed by a final field exercise.
If you are interested in gaining essential skills to increase your overall resilience and help your community, please register below and join us! These sessions are designed for newcomers and prior attendees of the Basic CERT course who would like to refresh their skills and knowledge.
Course modules will be offered on a rotating basis to allow for participants to attend the sessions needed for completion of the program or get practice on previously learned skills. Students need to attend all sessions (in any order) and the field exercise to receive certification. Staff members must seek supervisor approval prior to attending.
A minimum number of participants is needed to conduct the classes, so please register in advance.
Please contact Jason Holmgren with any additional questions.
