Immigration Status Policy

Policy Statement: The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 and the Immigration Act of 1990 require new hires to complete an I-9 form on their first day of employment. The form is available in the Office of Human Resources. Within three days of being hired, documentation must be presented to the Office of Human Resources or a designated individual who is establishing identity and employment authorization in accordance with federal immigration law. According to law, the College may not retain an employee for more than three business days if he/she fails to provide proper documentation.
