Seraphie Allen

Seraphie Allen BA ’15 joined the Portland mayor’s office following a stint as a volunteer for Ted Wheeler’s campaign in 2016. During their tenure, Allen contributed to the drafting of policies supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and to the creation of an emergency homeless shelter village. Allen spoke to the Portland Mercury about their experiences in April 2022, shortly after leaving the position with Wheeler’s office. At the time of their departure, Allen was Wheeler’s longest-tenured staffer.
