Taylor Herbert BA ’14 attended Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and obtained their JD, graduating in 2017. From August 2017 to May 2022, they were working as an attorney with the Office of the State Public Defender. In May 2022, Herbert moved back to Eugene to continue their work, and is currently a staff attorney at Public Defender Services of Lane County. In that capacity, they handle Measure 11 (carrying mandatory minimum sentences, like robbery and assault) and co-counsels more serious sex cases and murders.
