Alumni Celebrate Reunion Weekend

More than 1,000 alumni and friends returned to campus in June to celebrate class reunions and overseas and off-campus programs during Reunion Weekend 2012. Attendees drove, flew, and rode tandem bicycles to Portland to reconnect with their alma mater, former professors, and each other.

Highlights of the weekend included class dinners and receptions; overseas and off-campus program reunions; special presentations from faculty and alumni; a Northwest salmon bake; a marshmallow roast; a class parade, and late-night music in Templeton. More than 35 people were inducted into the Albany Society, including Richard Metzler BA ’52, who returned to campus for the first time since his graduation 60 years ago.

In a strong show of support for the college, alumni gave $123,497 in reunion gifts. The class of 1982 won the award for the biggest gift with $35,080, and the class of 1992 won for greatest increase in participation.
