College to host Class of 1951 Golden Reunion

Mark your calendars for the first weekend in May, when Lewis & Clark will host the Class of 1951 Golden Reunion during Commencement Weekend.


Friday, May 4

Registration and residence hall check-in will take place from 3:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 4, at the Reunion Hospitality Center in the foyer of Stamm Dining Room in Templeton Student Center.

A social hour will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Alumni Circle. A barbecue dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.


Saturday, May 5

Have coffee and juice from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in Stamm Dining Room before you survey old haunts and discover new gems on the campus tour, which begins at 10 a.m. in Stamm Dining Room.

Stephen Dow Beckham, Dr. Robert B. Pamplin, Jr., Professor of History, will introduce faculty from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in James F. Miller Center for the Humanities.

Join President Michael Mooney for a reunion luncheon from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the Alumni Circle. Don’t miss out on the class photo at 1:45 p.m.

Later, reminisce with Hester Turner, former dean of students, at 2 p.m. in Miller Center. Join Scott Staff, vice president for college relations, who will discuss the College’s master plan from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Visit the Reunion Hospitality Center from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., followed by a social hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., in the Corbett House, located on the College’s new south campus property.

The College will host the class of 1951 reunion banquet in the south campus Conference Center dining room from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Dance with Frank Leuck ’51 and his Sounds of Music big band. The class of 1951 invites the classes of 1949, 1950 and 1952 to attend the dance.


Sunday, May 6

The Albany Society, comprised of alumni who graduated from Lewis & Clark more than 50 years ago, will welcome members of the class of 1951 into its ranks at breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 6, in Stamm Dining Room.

Honor the class of 2001 at the Commencement Ceremony and Alumni Walk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Pamplin Sports Center.
