Spring 2019 Fitness for Employees

The CARE committee promotes recreational activities to help make a positive impact and build cohesiveness among employees. Below is a summary of fitness opportunities on campus. Please email CARE@lclark.edu if you notice we’ve missed something or have any questions.

Tennis anyone?

Several employees meet informally to play cardio tennis (otherwise known as running with rackets). This semester, the group meets at the tennis dome on Mondays and Wednesdays at 12:30pm. For more information, please contact Caroline Mead (cmead@lclark.edu).

Dance like nobody’s looking.

“Swingercise” is led by Melissa Roane, of the Watzek Library staff, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 12:45pm in the Pamplin Activity (Mat) Room 019. Melissa guides informal group of employees in steps and notions from the Charleston to the Jitterbug era. It is mostly cardio-dance, and Melissa will also infuse mini-history and some technique in vernacular jazz.

Consider attending PE classes that welcome employees.

Employees are welcome to drop-in regularly to current spring semester PE classes, though our Physical Education and Athletics staff ask that you please contact the instructor before you go to make sure they can accommodate an increase in class size. Classes can be found via WebAdvisor and are being offered 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition, employees are welcome to use the tennis dome, weight room, track, swimming pool, and mat room.
