Lewis & Clark requires that all degree seeking, and visiting, Undergraduate and Law students have medical insurance coverage comparable to that offered through the school’s comprehensive Student Health Insurance Plan. Students enrolled in the Academic English Studies program and those participating in domestic programs to New York City and Washington, DC are also held to this insurance requirement. For an explanation of why the school has this policy, please follow this link.
Students are afforded one opportunity in each academic year to waive the school’s coverage. If students do not submit an annual health insurance waiver, they will be automatically enrolled in coverage through the Student Health Insurance Plan for the entire academic year.
If you wish to decline coverage through the school sponsored insurance plan, you have a limited time at the start of each academic year to submit your health insurance waiver.
The insurance waiver link (available in July) will take you to the Regence Student Health web site and you will need your Social Security number and a password that is the last four digits of your Social Security number and the last two digits of your birth year. Once you are logged in you will be asked a few questions about your insurance coverage then once you submit your information and get a confirmation, you are done! There’s no paper waiver to be turned in.
For International Students without Social Security numbers - In order to log into the online waiver, there will be a place to enter your “Social Security Number.” In place of a Social Security number, you will use your Lewis & Clark student identification number and add two leading zeros to make a 9-digit identification number to use in place of a Social Security number (for example, for the online waiver, the alternative identification number for an international student with Lewis & Clark identification number of 1234567 would be 001234567. The waiver website will also ask you to supply a password. Your password will be the last four numbers of your student identification number and the last two digits of your birth year (for example, the above student who was born in 1996 would have a login of 456796).
