Coming soon to campus: LCmail powered by Google!

We are excited to announce to the campus that beginning in January, we will be transitioning our email services to LCmail, powered by Google. As well as providing Gmail to Lewis & Clark, we will also offer the availability of other Google products that will enable our organization to better communicate, share, and collaborate.
What will I get?
- 25 Gigabytes of email storage. No more worries about running out of space.
- Your same @lclark.edu email address. Nothing will change in terms of your L&C email address.
- Ability to use the Gmail client on the Web or, if you prefer, continue to use Thunderbird!
- Google Docs to create and share documents, spreadsheets and presentations online. Keep in mind that we will continue to support Microsoft Office as our primary productivity suite.
- Access to your information from anywhere with an internet connection, including your mobile device.
- Instant messaging from right within your inbox & free voice and video chat.
- Available May 2012, Google Calendar to schedule meetings, create events, and share calendars with others.
What do I need to do?
Nothing for now. Your old email address won’t change, and you’ll still have all your old messages. Starting January 9th, you’ll be able to activate your Google powered account. You will receive another email before then with more specific instructions to help you make the switch.
