Faculty Inaugurate New AAUP Chapter

The Lewis & Clark Advocacy Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) celebrated their inauguration with a memorable event on Friday, February 23, 2024.

The event, held from 3-5 p.m. in Smith Hall, was attended by faculty and staff from all three schools. CAS Dean Bruce Suttmeier and Associate Dean for Faculty Development Daena Goldsmith were also in attendance.

Oren Kosansky is the president of the AAUP at LC.The event included formal remarks by the chapter executive committee, with special thanks to Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies Magali Rabasa for her leadership in planning the event. The audience was treated to a performance by local folk band Rabble & Sage, adding a festive atmosphere to the proceedings.

“The inauguration celebration marks the beginning of a new era of academic advocacy at L&C,” Associate Professor of Psychology and Department Chair Diana Leonard said.

The chapter was officially formed on November 15, 2023. The executive committee members are:

  • Associate Professor of Anthropology Oren Kosansky
  • Associate Professor with Term Kim Brodkin
  • Associate Professor of Psychology and Department Chair Diana Leonard
