Parking is available in several on-campus lots but is prohibited in the local neighborhood. Campus safety officers and ushers will help direct traffic to open parking areas. Guests should allow extra time for traffic, walking to Griswold or Pamplin, and finding seating.

Special needs passenger check-in and drop-off

Before commencement, graduates should request accommodations for guests with mobility impairments. On the day of commencement, it will be necessary for a driver to drop off the guest with a mobility impairment and proceed to park the car. Please allow an additional 30 minutes.

  • Enter at the Information/Campus Safety entrance of the college, located at Entry Gate No. 3.
  • Look for the “Special Needs Passenger Check-in/Drop-off” sign. You will be directed to the drop-off area near Pamplin Sports Center and Griswold Stadium.
  • If a wheelchair has been requested, it will be available at the drop-off location. If the ceremony is in Pamplin, a family member will need to accompany the person in the wheelchair up the elevator to the main level and to the reserved special needs seating area.
  • After your driver has made the drop-off, he or she will find parking and then walk or shuttle back up to Griswold or Pamplin (buildings No. 1 and No. 3 on the campus map).
