Meet the Dean of Equity and Inclusion Finalist: April 26 at 4 p.m.

On behalf of the search committee, I invite you to attend a Zoom webinar with Associate Professor Danielle Torres, a finalist for the position of Dean of Equity and Inclusion. Danielle will make a presentation followed by a Q&A session on Tuesday, April 26, at 4 p.m.

The Dean of Equity and Inclusion fosters and supports the Lewis & Clark community through education, advocacy, and engagement. The goal of their work is for all members to feel recognized for who they are, challenged to venture from their comfort zone, and supported as they grow and learn. The dean’s main responsibilities are the following:
- serving as a member of the president’s Executive Council
- providing internal and external leadership
- assessing and improving campus culture on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion
- collaborating with and supporting faculty on curricular innovations related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- assisting with faculty, staff, and student recruitment and retention
- supporting institution-wide professional development opportunities
- managing the Office of Equity and Inclusion
Upon completion of the search process, Interim Dean of Diversity and Inclusion Casey Bieberich will return full time to her role as the associate dean of equity and inclusion and Title IX coordinator. We are grateful to the number of internal candidates who applied and who were reviewed by the search committee.
