My name is Jeremy and I am Mauritian. I spent the last six years at Waterford Kamhlaba (UWCSA) and it was indescribable. Going to a UWC made me learn that education is more than just a book or a teacher. It is the environment that you are in that forms you, and in a UWC I learned more from my friends around me than from any book and having friends come from all around the world gave me a different perspective on life. I learned about numerous cultures, cuisines and languages during my time at Waterford, so now I do not only understand them better but this experience has made me appreciate our differences and how they should be celebrated and should not divide us.
The main reason I was drawn to Lewis and Clark was its location. A small liberal arts college located within a large city but still in touch with nature on the West Coast of America was my ideal setting and L&C checked all those boxes. During my time here I think I will major in Economics as it has always been something I enjoyed. However, I am coming with an open mind and would not mind changing my major should I discover something different that I am passionate about. I have been looking at some of the Education classes and also Public health as I find them intriguing. Nonetheless, during my time at L&C I hope to try out new things especially things outside of my comfort zone as this can help me grow as a person and thus can fulfill my full potential.
In my free time I like to do photography as it is very relaxing. I am also a huge football fan, not American football though. I support Liverpool #YNWA because they are the best! But in general, I enjoy watching all sports in my free time.
