Rita Ombaka always had the dream to travel the world and explore and learn from different cultures. They could’ve never thought that they would end up in the United States though.
It was in a short presentation by an environmental studies professor in Swaziland that they got introduced to Lewis & Clark college. Rita was drawn to how beautiful the campus was and how it demonstrated a lot of autonomy in building out the campus experience, both educationally but also in co-curricular activities.
While at Lewis & Clark, Rita was involved in the International Students of Lewis & Clark board, Capella Nova Choir and student life programming. After graduating with a double major in International Affairs and Music Education, Rita ventured into the nonprofit field to learn more about how to create change within systemic confines.
