    This session replaces the Resource Lab Workshop.  

    Join Jim Proctor for a quick overview and discussion of digital scholarship and the opportunities presented by the ds.lclark.edu Digital Scholarship Multisite.
  • 10:30am - 11:45am: Incorporating YouTube or Other Visual Media
    Youtube and other videos, audio and other visual media such as images, timelines, etc. are an important component of class web pages and student online learning.  In this session, we’ll walk you through the mechanics of sharing these materials with your students online.
  • 10:30am - 11:45am: Polling Students
    Whether it’s doing a pre-class survey, conducting on-the-fly polling during class, or having students use surveys to gather research data, polling is an integral part of interacting with students. In this workshop, we’ll cover methods for carefully crafting questions and interpreting the data once it’s gathered, and the best tools for getting the job done.  
  • 10:30am - 11:45am: Beyond the Presentation
    Creating and then giving face-to-face presentations in PowerPoint (or other presentation programs) is only a fraction of how presentations are used today in instruction.  In this session, we’ll discuss using PowerPoint for pre-recorded, self-run presentations to upload to Moodle (and other systems) for your students to use outside the classroom. We’ll also discuss a variety of ways to use presentation software to produce printed classroom materials.
  • 9:55am - 10:15am: Quick Bytes: Virtual Assistants
    Sounds fancy, doesn’t it? Nowadays, almost everyone has a smart phone and almost every smartphone has a built in virtual assistant. This class will briefly go over the different virtual assistants out there and how they can help you be more efficient.
