12:45pm - 2:00pm: FTI Afternoon Session - ArcGIS & StoryMaps Show & Tell
StoryMaps is a free platform for creating websites often centered (but not always) around a geographic narrative. During the past spring semester, a number of faculty members at Lewis & Clark created assignments requiring students to use StoryMaps. In this session, four faculty members will discuss their assignments, demonstrate selected student work, and discuss pros and cons of using StoryMaps.

12:45pm - 2:00pm: FTI Afternoon Session - High-Performance Computing Cluster & Big Data at L&C
The LC High-Performance Computing Cluster (a.k.a “BLT”) has been available to the campus community since January. This session will provide a demo of the cluster, discussion on ways it can be used, and anecdotes from students and faculty members who used/are planning to use BLT.

Join author and instructional designer Mike Caulfield for a tour of new research in digital literacy on how best to teach students to sort fact from fiction (and everything in between) on the web. This is a workshop session that will introduce you to new techniques – please bring a laptop!
