Wednesday, January 17, Campus Information

Due to the onset of freezing rain that is expected to continue into tomorrow morning, operations at all three of our campuses will be curtailed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17. Read our School Closure Policy.

If you are on campus, be extremely cautious as walkways are likely to be icy and difficult to navigate. Avoid wooded areas as ice storm conditions are likely to cause additional trees and branches to fall. Note that the graduate school remains without power.

Important Information for Students (Wednesday, January 17)

  • CAS classes are canceled.
  • Law and graduate classes will be conducted remotely, to the extent possible. Professors will be in touch with information and instructions. Accommodations will be made for students who are unable to attend remote classes due to lack of power.
  • Events, athletics practices, and all other planned campus activities are canceled.
  • The Pio Express will begin operations on Wednesday as soon as it is safe to do so, and may run on a modified schedule and routes. Check the app for the most up-to-date information.
  • Dining will open in Fields as soon as Bon Appétit staff are able to safely get to campus on Wednesday, likely for brunch/lunch service. Residential students will receive direct communication Wednesday morning about dining availability and schedule.
  • If power goes out on campus, Fowler Student Center is powered by a backup generator and will remain open as a space to keep warm, charge phones, etc.

Important Information for Faculty and Staff (Wednesday, January 17)

  • Nonessential personnel should not report to campus and should work remotely, to the extent possible. Essential personnel should report for work when it is safe to do so, unless otherwise instructed by their supervisor.
  • Employees with questions about expectations and schedules should contact their supervisor.
