PHASE 3 COMPLETE: Student Center Renovation
Click here to find where an office is located during this construction project.
It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Lewis & Clark community! We are approaching the biggest renovation project we’ve experienced in more than 10 years.
Construction for the Templeton Student Center began December 16, 2021; Bremik Construction will bring to life the vision ZGF Architecture has carefully planned through hours and hours of interviews and meetings with Lewis & Clark leaders and students. Our new student center will welcome students with brighter and more open spaces, updated lighting, a pedestrian corridor, outside seating, courtyard improvements, and a new exterior elevator.
With any construction project of this magnitude, there will be some growing pains. Thank you in advance for your patience for our mess and noise and inconvenience.
Construction Updates
Templeton Way is Back, Back Baby!
Yo, LC…let’s kick it…Back, back baby…Back, back baby. Alright stop, collaborate and listen. Templeton Way is back with a brand new addition!
Student Center Phase 2 Construction Complete! NEW SPACES OPEN 10/7!
WHAT’S OPEN?
Basically, everything except for the old Mail Room and hallway on the west end of the second floor will be open. We will begin installing furniture in this space starting Wednesday, 9/28. In addition, the east exterior (ravine side) stairs will also be open and usable starting 10/7.
Note that visitors to Fields Dining Room will still need to enter from the wooden ramp on the northwest side of the building.
Please continue to be watchful of construction signage and stay clear of any areas identified as a construction zone.

Key Facts About Construction:
Dining
- The only entrance to Fields Dining Room will be the northwest entrance (currently an emergency exit). There will be a temporary ramp installed at this entrance.
- A restroom facility will be established at the northwest Fields dining hall entrance. This is the only restroom facility for the dining hall during construction.
Entry Points
All of the second floor except the Bookstore and Career Center will be under construction and inaccessible to the L&C community starting December 16 through the start of the 2022 fall semester.
Elevator
The current Templeton elevator will continue to operate during construction. There will be no access to the second floor, only first floor and third floor
Mailroom
The Mailroom has moved to the ground level of McAfee next to Human Resources-look for the oranges doors!
Parking
Parking is going to be one of the biggest challenges. The lower Templeton parking lot and the parking along the Stewart circle is going offline during construction to all except construction, college fleet, and service vehicles. Additional parking is available at the grad school gravel lot and St. Mark’s.
Vehicle Limitations
Templeton Way is closed.
